SUMMARY: In 1996, the Butte Creek Watershed Conservancy secured funding to develop a plan for the watershed. The GIC created a series of thematic map coverages to support this effort. Additional maps have been added supporting the development of a watershed management strategy.

PROJECT AREA: Encompasses a large part of Butte County and smaller portions of Plumas, Tehama, Glenn, Colusa, and Sutter counties.

DATA DEVELOPED:

• Various water data were obtained through the Department of Water Resources and converted into digital format. These layers include groundwater quality and monitoring sites, surface water quality and flow stations, and diversion inflows and outflows.
• Salmon fish habitats were developed.
