Central Valley Historical Vegetation Mapping Project |
|---|
| This project was developed for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to document vegetation loss in the Great Central Valley of California. |
Summary |
|---|
| The CVHVMP used historical maps at four selected time periods over a 100 year time span to document the loss of vegetation in California's Great Central Valley. The periods coincided with the development of the federal Central Valley Project and California's State Water Project. Historical maps were scanned and rectified. Vegetation footprints were digitized from a variety of source maps. Maps are general and meant to give a regional perspective. Maps can be downloaded below or you can view the project website, click here. |
